'Vordul Mega - Megagraphitti' | 07-02-2008

Scheduled for a August 19-release is Vordul Mega's sophomore album 'Megagraphitti'. With production from El-P, Bronze Nazareth, Sid Roams, Bond, Ravage and guest featurings by Vast Aire, Tommy Gunn (Monsta Island Czars), Billy Woods and the Invizzbl Men (Marq Spekt & Karniege), this former half of Cannibal Ox is back after his 2004's 'Revolution Of Yung Havocs'. 'Brooklyn Academy - Bored Of Education' | 06-28-2008

The trio of Mr Metaphor, Block McCloud and Pumpkinhead or shorter Brooklyn Academy release their first full LP 'Bored Of Education' July 22 on Gold Dust Media. NY's finest are joined by Jean Grae, Ill Bill, Will Tell and Killah Priest while Illmind, Black Milk and Snowgoons a.o. take place behind the boards. Peep out the track 'Raise Ya Hands' feat. 'Reks - Grey Hairs' | 06-28-2008

A product of the Boston underground scene, Reks comes with his sophomore studio album entitled 'Grey Hairs', seven years after his debut 'Along Came The Chosen'. The impressive producers list include DJ Premier, Large Professor, Statik Selektah, Blaze P, DC The Midi Alien, Soul Theory, DEMOBeatz and 1914. Guest featurings by Consequence, Skyzoo, Krumb Snatcha, Termanology, Jon Hope, Paula Campbell, Big Shug and Lucky Dice. Out July 22 on Brick Records.
 
 
 
'Common Market - Tobacco Road' | 06-28-2008

Seatlle's own lyricist RA Scion and (Blue Scholars) producer Sabzi aka Common Market return with their sophomore full length 'Tobacco Road' only months after their EP 'Black Patch War'. The 18-track-deep release issues September 9 on HYENA/MassLine Media. Check out the first self-titled track through Spin Mag.
 
 
 
'Tame One - Ol' Jersey Bastard' | 06-22-2008

Former Artifact Tame One is back with another solo release entitled 'Ol' Jersey Bastard'. This 12-track ode to the late great ODB, that anticipates the release of the download-only 'Acid Tab Vocab' project, is entirely produced by fellow New Jersians Drum and Knowledge of Parallel Thought and contains guest features by Del The Funky Homosapien and Sean Price. To be released July 29 on Amalgam Digital.
 
 
 
'Doap Nixon - Sour Diesel' | 06-21-2008

Jedi Mind Tricks present the debut album of Doap Nixon entitled 'Sour Diesel' to be released July 22 on Babygrande Records. Guest featuring is the core the Army Of The Pharoahs clique: Vinnie Paz, Outerspace, King Syze, King Magnetic, Reef The Lost Cauze. Production comes from the hand of Apathy, Snowgoons, StuBangas, Undefined and more. 'The Wait Is Over' is the first single and features Reef The Lost Cauze and Vinnie Paz.
 
 
 
'Opio - Vulture's Wisdom Vol 1' | 06-21-2008

Scheduled for a August-release is Opio's second album 'Vulture's Wisdom Vol. 1'. Dropping on Hiero Imperium, the CD is accompanied with a bonus DVD featuring videos as well as animated shorts and artwork. The whole album will be produced by The Architect. Screamin at wack rappers since 1994, Buff 1 (Athletic Mic League) is gonna show the world that 'There's Only One'. The album, on which Buff Onedah is backed with production by Lab Technicians, is scheduled for the 12th of August. First single of the album is 'Blow The Speakers Up'. Can’t stop hip-hop running through these veins; Lil Dap, living proof that nineties rappers still matter, returns wit his long-long-awaited debut album 'I-A-Dap', August 4, on Babygrande Records. Finally the long-awaited collaboration between Jean Grae and 9th Wonder is due to be released soon. Pushed back and reshelved since 2005, Blacksmith Records finally got a deal with Alternative Distribution Alliance to release the 'Jeanius' album on June 15, in four different cover versions. The latest video 'Love Thirst' is a prequel to what's supposed to be one of this year's highlights.

LA based lyricist Shawn Jackson returns with his third solo release 'First Of All', one year after the release of the album's head single 'Feelin' Jack'. 'What's wrong you didn't know Ras was back?' Well, he is. Rasco's upcoming album 'Global Threat' was supposed to come out May 16 but after two push backs the release date is set on August 19. 'Tanya Morgan - The Bridge EP' | 05-18-2008

Two years after the excellent 'Moonlighting' release, the trio of Tanya Morgan aka Donwill, Illyas and Von Pea from Ohio, Cincinatti, bring the EP 'The Bridge'. Containing 8 tracks, amongst them the earlier released 'How Low', the album is fully produced by the group, with only two guest features. Already available on-line, the official CD is slated for a June 17-release.
 
 
 
'Giant Panda - Electric Laser' | 04-15-2008

After their Fly School Reunion it's time for the trio of Giant Panda to drop their sophomore release 'Electric Laser' on Tres Records. 'The production, foremost, is in many ways its predecessor, and yet it isn't', the press release secretely reveals. Teacher and NY underground heroe J-Live is releasing his fourth album already. The LP entitled 'Then What Happened?' is the follow-up to his 2005's 'The Hear After' and issues on BBE.
