Braille & S1
Cloud Nineteen
Hiphop IS Music | 2009

After having each track produced by a different producer on his previous release 'The IV Edition', HiphopIsMusic founder Braille Brizzy took only one producer under his wings for his latest album 'Cloud Nineteen'. And that’s what Symbolic One, sound provider of the Strange Fruit Project, does: giving the Lightheaded front man wings, as the collaboration between the two religious men is a solid sound tapestry chocked with spiritual vibes and 'soup for the soul'.

In an honest and convincing manner, Braille manages to open his heart to the listener ('we do it for the love and we do it for life, you’re the reason that we’re out here rockin tonight') and be frank in every emotion he wants to share, building further on 'Blessed Man' (that appeared on 'The IV Edition'), the root of their partnership. The gospel-tinged 'Broken Heart' (feat. Myth and Myone of Strange Fruit Project), where the loss of a parent and, more in general, life after death is discussed and celebrated, the drum-heavy 'Heart of GOD', where today’s religious conflicts are examined ('what the people need is Jesus keeping up with the Joneses') and the soulful 'Found Her', a dedication to his wife, are among the album’s highlights and show both Braille’s intricate, insightful and critical approach in lyrics.

And so this has become a very qualitative, personal hip-hop testament of both artists, with a mature and modern vision on 'believing anno 2009', that might make agnostics change their mind.
