D-Sisive
Like This (plus three)
Urbnet | 2008

While it's waiting for his new album 'Let The Children Die', Toronto's D-Sisive decided to release a warming-up mini-EP featuring the main track 'Like This', its instrumental, two extra tracks and an outro even. The Muneshine produced main single features a hypnotic yet dusty drum roll with both D-Sisive ('take this as a warning like 5:46 in the morning') and guest rapper Guilty Simpson ('our sidewalks can cook noodles') spittin low-paced, dark and unpolished vocals, boastin about either their unequivalent rap style and/or the hood they come from.

Of course the Guilty appearance adds an extra dimension to the song and therefore it'll play an important role in strenghtening the album's anticipation, but the other cuts who arouse opposite moods i.e. the uplifting 'Up', that got laced with an excellent Muneshine remix featuring a horn-heavy, soothing bassline, and the gloomy The Arkeologists' produced 'The Flinstones' (about a child growing with an abusive mother), got a lot of potential and already betray the album's diversity.
