This album is something you’re not going to play everyday, but it’s worth a listen now and then. After all, it ain’t all gotta be about the girls, the booze and (for God’s sake) cars. This only shows the versatility of hip-hop and how far one can go with it. Listening to 'The Helekwom' is takin a look at the flipside of the average rap coin.

'Dick Swanson Theory pt 1' is everything we hoped to hear from Rasco. His traditional lyrics and fresh productions by a relatively young team of producers take us back to the days of 'Time Waits For No Man' and 'How The West Was One'. Monsterous!

As a member of the City Planners crew, alongside Ishkan, Sweet G, Sichuan and Moka Only, the rep grew bigger and outside Canada, the recognition has only grown more with his 2002 release on Day By Day Ent, 'Dark City'.

Sweden is more than Looptroop, Timbuktu or Soul Supreme. Take Scoob Rock for instance. He doesn’t really enjoy an international status, but with several experiences in life, his West-Indies background and therefore multi-influenced hip-hop, his music has the potential to live up to a worldwide status.

Although all three rappers of the crew feature on the same song only a few times, they are a well-oiled rap group (it’ll rather be beer than oil though), spittin lyrics like they live life; with a passion for the music, girls and the Red Star label.

'Skyline' shows Mr Skurge as a gifted MC who follows not the ordinary path of braggin, boastin and partay hardy-ing, a path that has been followed by too many cats already, but he paves his own way through criticism, biographical sketches, and uncommon love anthems.

Almost 25 years and already been around the world and ay, ay, ay, this Canadian turntablism prodigy has quite a story to tell. From his Bar Mitzvah, when he bought his first set of record players, to his recent tour with the almighty Kanye West, 'Sunglasses Is A Must' (no particular symbolism) offers a closer look at his travels, battles and him meeting up with some of hip-hop’s most colourful people.

We have a bad feeling that plenty of people will sleep on this album, but really, if you like good music you need to check this out, because, with the exception of for example Raw Produce, hip-hop doesn’t sound this jazzy anymore!

'Anthology vol 1' is nothing but greatness, and if you think 2005 was a great year for the Inc, then they will certainly confirm in the new year, if not do better.
